Privacy Policy

Last updated: 9 July 2026

BrightMaze Spot (“BrightMaze Spot”, “we”, “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through brightmazespot.com, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We handle personal information in line with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and, where it applies to visitors from the EEA and UK, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Who we are

We are an independent curatorial hub for Android games, based in Vancouver. For any privacy matter you can reach us at:

What we collect

We keep data collection to a minimum. Depending on how you use the site, we may collect:

  • Details you give us — the name, phone number and email address you enter into our subscribe form, and anything you include when you email or call us.
  • Push-notification identifiers — if you allow browser notifications, our provider (OneSignal) stores an anonymous subscription token for your browser so we can send updates.
  • Basic technical data — standard server logs and cookie data such as approximate region, browser type and pages viewed, used to keep the site secure and working.

Why we use it

  • To send you the occasional update about new games on the wall, if you have asked us to.
  • To respond to your enquiries and suggestions.
  • To operate, secure and improve the website.
  • To meet our legal and regulatory obligations.

Where the GDPR applies, our lawful bases are your consent (for marketing updates and non-essential cookies) and our legitimate interests (in running a secure, functional site). You may withdraw consent at any time.

Push notifications

Browser push notifications are powered by OneSignal, Inc. If you opt in, OneSignal processes an anonymous device token and any tags we attach (such as the fact that you used our form) so that messages can be delivered. You can turn notifications off at any time in your browser settings, and we can delete your record on request. See OneSignal's own privacy notice for how they act as our processor.

Cookies

We use a small number of essential cookies and similar technologies. Full details, including how to manage them, are in our Cookie Policy. Non-essential cookies are only set with your consent through our cookie banner.

Sharing your information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run the site — such as our hosting and push-notification providers — and only to the extent they need it to perform their service. We may also disclose information where required by law.

International transfers

Some of our providers may process data outside Canada, including in the United States. Where personal information is transferred internationally, we take reasonable steps to ensure it remains protected by a comparable standard, using appropriate contractual and organisational safeguards.

How long we keep it

We retain personal information only for as long as needed for the purpose it was collected, or as required by law. Mailing-list details are kept until you unsubscribe; enquiry correspondence is kept for a reasonable period and then deleted.

Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may ask us to access, correct, update or delete your personal information, withdraw consent, or object to certain processing. To exercise any right, email [email protected]. We will respond within the time frame required by PIPEDA or the GDPR. You also have the right to complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, or to your local supervisory authority in the EEA/UK.

Children

The site is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us their information, contact us and we will remove it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date above reflects the most recent version. Material changes will be highlighted on this page.
